COSN Visits Scotland and Learns about Glow, World's First National Education Intranet, Designed and Delivered by RM Education
The Consortium for School Networking (COSN) recently visited several schools in Scotland to learn about Glow powered by Kaleidos. Glow, the first nationwide intranet for education created in partnership between RM Education and the Scottish Government, digitally connects every district, school, teacher and student within the country.
Click on the links below to read blog entries from COSN members and learn how teachers and students throughout Scotland are breaking geographical and social barriers. Many key issues are discussed. Everything from an environmental savings due to a reduced amount of printing, to whether the actions of a small handful of students who may abuse a network dictate whether or not everyone can continue to use it. Glow opens up new opportunities for education. As it continues to grow, more uses for this national education intranet are being discovered.
